Design / Build Collaboration with Paper Airplane
This passive house design in the Five Points neighborhood of Denver employs south-facing skylights to provide heat in winter and operable windows with an open floor plan to provide passive cooling in summer.
A heat recovery ventilator guarantees continuous, filtered, fresh air. The entire structure is wrapped in reclaimed rigid foam insulation, making the design thermal bridge-free!
Heating and cooling is provided by super efficient electric heat pumps. While these are currently grid tied, the high pitched metal roof allows for solar panels at a future date. Then, the heat pumps' energy could come directly from the solar array.
