Full scale renovation of an existing building for a montessori toddler and primary school in Denver, CO

Montessori School of Wild Pines is a small community-centered montessori toddler and primary school, with six classrooms of children between 1.5 and 6 years old. The bootstrap non-profit relies heavily on family involvement, which both increases the sense of community and reduces overhead. This full scale renovation of an existing building on a tight budget and timeline was an incredible feat of creativity, tenacity, and collaboration between the board, administration, contractor, and architect team, and truly saved the school from closing down when their prior lease expired. The excitement of the teachers to occupy their light-filled new spaces with direct outdoor access was only surpassed by the delight of the kids in their new learning environment. Opening day Fall 2023 was truly memorable and moving!
