El Jets X Sky Outpost Article Features
The El Jets project has been featured in Gear Junkie and Outside Business Journal
El Jets is a hospitality destination with an emphasis on outdoor recreation; the camping sites, cabin rentals, cantina restaurant and remote work/meeting space were all designed by Shape, as well as a laundry/bathroom/refill facility. This unique eco-resort was an opportunity to design something very different from most sites we have worked on - but it's a perfect example of projects we love to do.
We are working on an active farm/park located on a historic homestead in Aurora that also has mixed-use needs. The 1881 Heritage Farm Park is a 10-acre community and regional park including a greenhouse, farm-to-table restaurant, welcome and event center. It is designed to reconnect people with the land and create an inclusive and accessible community. It will be net-zero, and as such will serve as a new standard in sustainable design.
We were incredibly inspired by the vision of Jen Taylor, the originator and motivating force behind the project. Her values of community, connectivity, sustainability, and pure positive energy resonate deeply with our own values.
We are also thrilled to work on projects that help connect people with place - and El Jets is a perfect example. Located along a community bike/multi-use trail on the banks of the Colorado and confluence of the Gunnison River with a paddleboard & tubing-friendly area, the project brings new life to a formerly abandoned part of Grand Junction and reconnects the city’s downtown to the river.
