Introducing the Curtis Park Historic Renovations, a meticulous restoration of a duplex and single-family home, originally built in 1887, located in the heart of Denver’s Historic Curtis Park District. Our team is rehabilitating these buildings with care and precision, preserving their historic integrity while integrating modern comforts. Shape and the client are working closely with Denver’s Landmark Preservation Committee to ensure each detail, from custom-made doors and windows to the exterior wood trim, matches the original craftsmanship. With upgraded mechanical systems and increased insulation, the homes now offer a higher level of thermal comfort and energy efficiency without compromising the historic charm. The project also includes the reconstruction of damaged brickwork by expert masons, a converted attic hideaway in the single-family house, a dug out basement, and thoughtfully designed backyards for outdoor living. The exterior spaces were designed to provide an urban oasis amidst the bustling streets of Denver. In preserving these historic homes, we strive to create a seamless blend of timeless connection to Curtis Park's roots and contemporary comfort for generations to come.
